By accessing and using Outplay Guides ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

Outplay Guides is a web-based platform that allows users to create, share, and view League of Legends champion guides, matchup strategies, builds, rune pages, and playbooks. The service includes:

• Guide creation and editing tools
• Matchup analysis and recommendations
• Build libraries and customization
• Rune page management
• Champion playbook strategies
• Discovery and favorite systems
• OAuth authentication (Google, Twitch)
• Riot Games account verification

3. Copyright and Content Protection

3.1 Ownership of Content

All guides, matchup strategies, builds, rune pages, and playbooks created on Outplay Guides remain the intellectual property of their respective creators. By creating content on the Platform, you grant Outplay Guides a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, distribute, and promote your content as part of the service.

3.2 Copyright Protection

Guide content displayed on Outplay Guides is protected by copyright law and technical protection measures. Users agree to the following:

• No Unauthorized Copying: Users may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from guide content without explicit permission from the content creator.
• Copy Protection: The Platform employs technical measures to deter unauthorized copying, including CSS-based selection prevention and JavaScript event blocking.
• Personal Use Only: Any information obtained from guides is for personal, non-commercial use only.
• Attribution Required: If you have permission to share content, you must provide proper attribution to the original creator and link back to Outplay Guides.

3.3 DMCA Takedown Policy

If you believe your copyrighted content has been used without permission, please submit a DMCA takedown notice to our designated copyright agent. We will investigate and take appropriate action, which may include removing the infringing content and/or suspending the offending user's account.

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

• Use a strong, unique password
• Not share your account with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Accept responsibility for all actions taken through your account

4.2 Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Copy or redistribute guide content without permission
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to extract content
• Circumvent copy protection measures for commercial purposes
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users
• Create multiple accounts to abuse the service
• Use the Platform for any illegal activity
• Violate Riot Games' Terms of Service

4.3 Content Standards

All user-generated content must:

• Be accurate and helpful to the League of Legends community
• Not contain offensive, discriminatory, or hateful material
• Not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights
• Comply with Riot Games' Terms of Service and Community Guidelines

• Accessibility Settings: Whether accessibility mode is enabled

5.2 Data Usage

Your data is used to:

• Provide and improve the service
• Verify Riot account ownership
• Display accurate matchup statistics
• Implement access control and visibility settings
• Enable OAuth authentication
• Track guide popularity and favorites

5.3 Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted OAuth tokens (AES-256)
• Secure database connections (PostgreSQL with SSL)
• JWT-based session management

5.4 Third-Party Services

Outplay Guides integrates with the following third-party services:

• Riot Games API: For champion data, match history, and account verification
• Google OAuth: For Google account authentication
• Twitch OAuth: For Twitch account authentication and subscriber verification
• Supabase: For database hosting (PostgreSQL)

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy and terms of service. We are not responsible for their practices.

6. Riot Games Affiliation

Outplay Guides isn't endorsed by Riot Games and doesn't reflect the views or opinions of Riot Games or anyone officially involved in producing or managing Riot Games properties. Riot Games, and all associated properties are trademarks or registered trademarks of Riot Games, Inc.

All champion images, item icons, rune data, and game assets are the property of Riot Games, Inc. and are used in accordance with Riot's Legal Jibber Jabber and the Riot Games API Policies.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Outplay Guides is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties or representations about:

• The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of guide content
• The availability or uptime of the service
• The suitability of strategies for your specific gameplay
• The security or privacy of your data (though we implement reasonable measures)

Use at your own risk. We are not liable for any losses, damages, or consequences resulting from your use of the Platform or reliance on guide content.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Outplay Guides and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, or goodwill
• Service interruptions or data breaches
• Actions taken by third-party services (Riot Games, Google, Twitch)
• Content created by other users

Total liability is limited to $100 USD or the amount you've paid for the service (if any), whichever is less.

9. Account Termination

9.1 Termination by User

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. Upon deletion:

• Your account data will be permanently removed
• Your guides will be deleted (unless you transfer ownership)
• Your favorites and follows will be removed
• This action cannot be undone

9.2 Termination by Platform

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in prohibited conduct
• Abuse accessibility accommodations
• Upload malicious or illegal content
• Harass other users

Terminated accounts may forfeit access to all content and data.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
